I have been delinquent on the pre-season analysis. My 2 year-old has been keeping me busy.
Let's jump into the NCAA week 1 picks.
Northwestern at Miami, OH
The sharp money has moved the line from -3.5 to -5.5. The main reason is that Miami, OH is only returning 5 starters and it has lost its veteran QB Josh Betts. Despite the fact, Brett Basanez is gone, I like the Wildcats to show the inexperienced Redskins why the Big 10 is superior.
Tmoney says Northwestern -5.5
Northern Illinois at Ohio St.
I am always hesitant to play the dog on the road against a top ranked team. I just have 2 words - Colin Cowherd. Cowherd's college picks last year were almost flawless. He likes Northern Illinois to cover based on the Buckeyes looking ahead to Texas. We will lay our money next to him.
Tmoney says Northern Illinois +17
Utah at UCLA
I would love to be a homer and say UCLA will be good. The fact is that the defense is undersized and sucks. On offense, they lost all of their key talent - Olson, Drew, and Lewis. Utah is on the upswing. The defense is solid, and the young offense has a year of experience under its belt. Take Utah to win outright.
Tmoney says Utah +3.5
UAB at Oklahoma
Many think Oklahoma is poised for a big return to its elite status. I think the defense is solid and will lock down UAB, and Adrian Peterson will run wild. UAB will be starting a new QB in a tough environment. I need at least one home team favorite.
Tmoney says Oklahoma -22
USC at Arkansas
Ok, this is my homer pick. Sure USC has a whole new offense, but does it matter? The talent is superior on every dimension. Lay the points and watch the Trojans roll.
Tmoney says USC -8
