The last couple weeks have been tough as I have been traveling so I haven't kept up with my posts.  The picks haven't been so great either.  I never really got going on the Steeler game last night. The lone highlight was the Polamolu interception.  The missed field goal, the intereception/penalty/field goal, and the onside kick all killed the Steelers and they never got anything going. I hope we get another shot in the playoffs, but we need to beat the Bengals and Bears to even have a shot.

I will just update my records for the week and the year, instead of rambling on random thoughts.  The bottomline is that we are still in the red.

3-0 on Sunday bets takes me into Monday and my Steelers.   Do you know what is coming?

Steelers at Colts
Big Ben is back and not soon enough.  The whole world is on the Colts this year, and well, they are playing pretty good since they brought a D and a running game. I actually think the Steelers stack up reasonably against the Colts. The question is can the Steelers D stymie Peyton enough to stay in the game? And will Ben be able to score?  Well, I think the Steelers will actually be able to move the ball readily with the running game. I am not sure the Steelers will stop the Colts, and in fact, I see the Colts putting up 24-28 points.  However, the Steelers will be right in the this game and 8.5 is a little too much disrespect. This ain't the Bengals defense.

Sunday In The Meadowlands

Saints at Jets
2-0 on the afternoon, might as well keep it rolling.  2 teams here that don't have a lot to play for except pride.  37 is the total and I don't see 2 good defenses.  I like this to go over the total.

Last Hurrah

A last run of picks in college.

Wisconsin at Hawaii
This line has run up in the last 2 hours, we are currently at 9.5 for the home team.  Honolulu is a black hole for rowdy college visitors. The public is ignoring that though. Hawaii is a sneaky good team that can score, and Wiscy has shown that they have no defense.  As the points add up, I like the value of 9.5 at home...and it will keep Friday interesting here at home.

Boise St. at Lousiana Tech
Boise is solid, but definitely a different team on the road. However, LaTech is kinda average.

Florida St. at Florida
FSU has just fell apart this year, losing 3 of their last 4. I just don't think they are that good. Take the Gators at home.

South Florida at UConn
South Florida is playing for a chance to face West Virginia and a BCS spot. Can you imagine South Florida in the final 8?  UConn won't be able to stop them.

Fresno St. at Nevada
For those out west you know Fresno is very good. Now the nation knows as well. Nevada can score at times, but they haven't faced a defense like the Bulldogs.

Last week we went 9-7, but only 1-3 on games we bet.  I'll take 9 every week down the stretch as it is getting tight with good information.

Games I Am Betting

Pats at Chiefs
The Pats are held together with string and glue.  I think the Chiefs will just run it down their throat at Arrowhead and the Chiefs need to keep winning to keep their hopes alive in the West.

Don't look now, but the Vikings are starting to play OK. They are home and can smell themselves getting back into it in the Norris.

Friday Texas Special

Texas at Texas A&M
Sure it's a rivalry game on the road, but the Texas offense is the #1 scoring offense in the country, and Texas A&M is ranked 95.  That is a match-up for disaster. The Longhorns will put up at least 50, and their stingy defense will limit A&M.  A day after Thanksgiving blowout.

Backyard Brawl

If you didn't get enough football with the NFL, play some college.  My home team Pitt travels down to Morgantown on Thanksgiving.

Pitt at West Virginia
Cordially known as the Backyard Brawl, Pitt vs. West Virginia is a nasty rivalry.  WVU has been rolling and they lead the Big East and are the likely Big East participant in the BCS magic 8.  The line here opened at 12 and has moved up to 14.5 pretty quickly. I have been struggling on how to play this and thought the under was the way to go. However, a likely dog-fight is priced in at 42.5.  Pitt is 5-5 and fighting for bowl eligibility.  If you want to look at trends, this series is 24-24-2 in the last 50, that's pretty equal.  So I looked at the weather.  Low 30's and snow doesn't exactly lay out a great track. I expect a typical battle here, and I like Pitt to hang within the spread, battling for its 6th win. Take the points to the bank.

Falcons at Lions
The Lions just escape my understanding. One week they can be brilliant and the next they can't score.  It is clear to me that the Falcons have superior talent. They need the win to keep pace in the tough NFC South.
